You don’t always need to ascend a giant mountain to get some stunning views! The south end of Vancouver Island is full of gentle, rolling hills — particularly around Sooke and the Highlands. It’s an area that I grew up in and it definitely holds a special place in my heart. So of course I was thrilled to have the opportunity to shoot Taylor and Zen here. They both have so much love for each other that you can’t help but feel happy being around them!

After a short 15 minute hike we reached the summit where we were met with some gorgeous dramatic skies as the sun began to set. I had an absolute blast working with them, all while their wonderful pup, Porscha, bounded around, occasionally pausing just long enough to get in a photo.

Oh, and if you ever ask if you can bring your dog to a session, the answer is always YES!
